Failed trip
So my son and I decided to hit the ice for some fishing and ice camping yesterday. It was a nice clear day and we got to the lake around 6:00 pm and imediately started to set up. We got the foam pads down for the floor and had 3 holes punched for nightime fishing. Next we started to set up the pop-up shelter, but it was tangled up in itself. I tried for and hour and a half to get it straightened out but no luck. I even pulled some of the poles out but nothing doing! Finally at sunset, we decided it was futile so we packed up and headed home. We didn’t even wet a line.
This morning, I tried again on the lawn and finally got it up. Not sure what happened but it was very frustrating.

That is a bummer. Know exactly what you are talking about though. Have had it happen to me before - never on an overnighter though. Ended up fishing open air for the day. Since that time i have been religious about my setup and takedown procedure - hasn't happened since. Roof first then walls when setting up. Walls first then roof last for takedown. Sometimes the wind can compound things.

The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Yeah I’ve had that happen with both brand name and knock off pop-ups. Usually collapse and try again fixes it.
