I was coming on here to find out if anybody had a fix for my sons dogs allergies and itching. LOL
His vet has recommended this same drug which is the subject of this post APOQUEL and my reason for posting was to look for a cheaper alternative.
So far there seems to be none but in my research I did find that COSTCO in the USA sells this drug cheaper to its members, about $1.97 a pill down from about $4.00 a pill in Canada.
I also found out that the patent is on this drug until 2026 at which time hopefully generic one will be made.
I can say that for my sons dog this drug works wonders after he also spent a lot of money on stuff that did not work.
Oclacitinib is the actual drug and its sold under the name of Apoquel.
I am checking out Pets Value right now as they have a DBD/Hemp pill they sell that appears to be working well for dogs with these problems.

I'm with others here Costco kirkland salmon and sweet potato seems to be the trick for my lab. I went to vet and they gave me pills that worked great until the pills ran out. then another prescription for $75. My girl had really bad ear infections. she been on the costco food now 2 years and hasn't had a problem with her ears since. And as a bonus it costs half of what I was paying for her food,

I moved my Lab over the raw diet, it significantly reduced that dog's alergy reactions. Take a look at the last few ingredients on the ingredients list on the bag, dog food is very high in preservatives. The other thing I did was not let it go swimming at the end of the summer when the bacteria count is high.
