Ice fishing a bust on great lakes
https://oodmag.com/ice-fishing-a-bust-on-great-lakes/
Warmer than normal and in some cases, record-setting temperatures, led to a poor ice fishing season on big water.
What can I but enumerate old themes,
First that sea-rider Oisin led by the nose
Through three enchanted islands, allegorical dreams,
Vain gaiety, vain battle, vain repose,
Themes of the embittered heart, or so it seems.
-- "The Circus Animals’ Desertion" by William Butler Yeats

yep my home Lake St Clair has had really zero ice the last 3 seasons. I'm pretty much ready to sell my gear and move on. The good news is our boat fishing season stayed open all winter... lol

On simcoe some had their boats out for closer.
As for the fishing it was ok too missed the last ice perch and never get a 14 inch perch. Lots of shallow water whitefish in as little as 11 ftw that was fun sight fishing them.
Hopefully next season is much better.

I wonder with the lack of ice fshing if the numbers and size will noticeably increase for the next season if we get ice next year.
