Seagulls and Pigeons
On mothers day I went out in the morning to grab the wife a Starbucks as our lovely youngest daughter woke her up before 7 am while I was out with the dog. I was about a minute to the store when I passed a clear road. I was only at the shop for maybe a minute. On the way back in the same empty road spot there was a seagull eating a freshly dead pigeon. I figured it had to have been the seagull that killed it as it wasn't there only moments before. I pulled over and grabbed the pigeon to use it for some work with the dog as it was still in really good shape.
I am just curious has anyone else seen seagulls killing pigeons? After finding this I looked up to see if it is a common occurrence and apparently in Rome and London ever since Covid the seagulls have been attacking and killing other birds and rats.

More likely the pigeon got smacked by a small hawk which dropped it and a passing seagull was doing a clean up on aisle 2.

I don't think a gull would kill a pigeon.

After looking into it a little it seems as though in Europe this has become fairly common place, apparently even killing small birds for sport. But I never would expect it here, it just seems odd that a hawk would kill and then abandon its prey

For the ones doubt seagulls can catch and or eat a pigeon.
