Default Fawns are dropping and the coyotes know it

Went out for a walk with the hound today. He is 13 years old and still pretty spry for his age. Well 1/4 mile into the bush we come upon 3 coyotes feeding on a fresh kill. I was not armed but hound didn't care, he is a walker/rotti cross and hates yotes with a passion. He charged right away and scattered them and then was gone for 2 hours chasing and doing what he was born to do. Sooner or later his age will catch up to him. Pretty sure i won't have to ever put him down as he is out most nights keeping them away from the house and i have no doubt his age will trip him up sooner or later. Anyways the fresh kill was a pretty new fawn:

Foot (Size 9) in pic for scale. I collected what was left and buried it down 3 feet with the backhoe to keep them away:

The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

I haven't seen any Coyotes while Turkey hunting, yet, which is really rare for 73. There's no shortage of Deer. There's tracks everywhere.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

that sad, we have way to many coyotes around here. I turkey hunted 7 days and saw coyotes 4 of those days. they need to be around but not this many. I never see them when i have the rifle on me, well once I did and it never going to kill anything,

great time of year to shoot the coyotes... fawn in distress works well, especially around some fresh cut hay fields
