I would think urban sprawl is the difference between then and now. With every new subdivision built over the past thirty years houndsmen got squeezed.

The solution was to train and trial in enclosures then hunt in the wild. the proposed legislation changes were to allow for transfers which would allow for a club like ottawa valley bc to be past to the next generation.
