Immigration is a good thing it can also have devastating consequences bringing in excessive amounts of people without the proper resources. When you bring them as a tool for the papers to look good to keep us out of a recession then what? Future voter's? Canada increased its population by 3 percent is it helping the people already here? When you add in more people than the state of New York it can have negative effects when it's rushed in and silenced don't talk about it was in the government documents it was the plan. What about Canada's skilled workers opps . When you give big businesses insensitives and saves then almost 10 thousands dollars a worker who pays for the insensitives the people do and they also loose out to new comers. Who's got win win?

You guys are missing the point - nothing wrong with letting Irish - German - Italians - Polish - and others into our country - they all have a lot in common - I'd say the same culture - letting others who have entirely different cultures is something else - and now let me ask - is our countries stronger or weaker because of their immigration policies - from what I see our countries are now embroiled in all kinds of demonstrations and divided - I think a country that is made up of people who have a lot of similarities is stronger than a country made up of all kind of people from all over the world - that's all - heck my folks came from Germany - can't be against that

My 2 cents on the topic of immigration. We want and need immigrants that want to be here and become citizens that will work and build our country to be the best it can be. This is what immigration was for the last at least 100 years if not more. They came, they worked, they built lives and families. They brought their culture BUT fit into the North American dream.
We didn't have Italian, Poles, Germans, etc. forcing their views on the local population. You didn't see very many of them blowing up airlines, chopping off heads, basically treating human life as something that is worthless if you disagree with their beliefs.
This I believe is the major problem these days, too many useless people wanting to come here because they have almost complete immunity to terrorize the locals and GASP! will be threatened with a plane ticket back home to reuse the revolving door that is now our border.

Boy how people can twist things around - and then end up in left field - my original point was that a lot of unrest that is happening in our countries is because we have too many different cultures mixed up together and this weakens a country - that's all - nothing else - it makes common sense that this is a true statement - never mentioned any culture in particular - who knows maybe I like a weak country where 10 different languages are spoken - where 10 different religions are practiced - where I guy can have 10 wives - who knows - meanwhile all is almost quiet on the southern front -

So true. When my German relatives came here, they changed their name several times to not sound too German. They wanted to get along with the Loyalists. Does make research on the family tree hard though.

The problem with your argument FFF, is that the immigration in the past was not in the scale of the mass waves we are seeing now and that those that came were willing to join that great American melting pot. These days our left-leaning politicians are insulting our past more often than not and creating instant victims out of anyone who is non-white.

Because we all have different ideas as to what is right or wrong - how things should be changed - fixed - exactly the point I was making - take abortion - some feel it is ok to do away with a baby at anytime of pregnancy while others thing this is murder - how are these folks going to get along - or those that think we should take away from the haves and give it to the have nots - the list goes on - it ain't gonna happen
