Chinook running
Son landed 2 like this over the weekend from shore at mouth of the Sydenham basically downtown Owen Sound. He lives and works local to the area and gets off work at 8 pm on weekends. Hit the river 830 pm Saturday/Sunday night and had one each night by 10 pm.

First one gave him a 20 minute run for his money and second one took 25 minutes to land.

Nice fish. I tried the Sauble river mouth since we have a place close by but nothing running at all.

The salmon fishery in Lake Superior took a nose dive ever since the US states stopped stocking them. I heard that the fishing hasn’t been that bad this fall around Wawa and a guy landed one over 35 pounds. There was a derby on the Nipigon River a couple of weekends ago and a 26 pounder took home $10,000. Most anglers got skunked however. I used to spend 4-5 days salmon fishing salmon each year but it’s a waste of boat gas now.

Beauty fish. I got the chance to fish Southeast Alaska Ketchikan area waters a few weeks ago.
We boated 6 nice silver salmon. Some of the best tasting fish I have ever had...
