Book Review: One is Too Many
https://oodmag.com/book-review-one-is-too-many/
One is Too Many is a passionate account of the cancellation of the spring bear hunt and the hard-fought legal battle to reinstate it.
What can I but enumerate old themes,
First that sea-rider Oisin led by the nose
Through three enchanted islands, allegorical dreams,
Vain gaiety, vain battle, vain repose,
Themes of the embittered heart, or so it seems.
-- "The Circus Animals’ Desertion" by William Butler Yeats

Going to get a copy of this. I was around when this happened, and it stunk so bad I could smell it from Windsor...

It is worth remembering that the Premier who cancelled the bear hunt was re-elected with a majority government while the Premier who brought it back went down to a crushing defeat.

That pretty much proves how uneducated the general public is when it comes to conservation/wildlife management

And to the chagrin of many here it was Harris a good old blue northern boy that canceled it and Wynne a red Torontonian that brought it back.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.
