Hey folks
can a cellular cam (spypoint) bought in the USA work in Canada?

Hmm, good question. I’m presuming not as they are different networks. The cameras would have to be able to roam in order to work and that costs money.

Isn’t it a matter of connecting the camera with an internet/wifi connection to send out the data.

No. It’s cellular and each country has specific SIM cards. SPYPOINT asks you to specify which country you’re in when ordering.
Seen some European people buy one in the us as they are very cheap compared to their options but they won’t work

All network providers have tie-up with other network provider companies. In case when there is no reachable connection from the network provider tower, the cellular device uses the network from the nearest available tower of other companies in order to establish a connection.

well that’s interesting. I’ve read guys posting on SPYPOINT support group about it not working. And wonder why they have you specify which country model when you order from them.
