A University of Waterloo researcher’s ground-breaking research has found a way to alter bacteria so that they consume microplastics.

What do they do to the environment when they run out of plastic ....... man can we screw things up !

Ya, thought about that too, as you're walking along the bugs will eat the plastic parts of your shoes, lol. Then the bumpers and car parts will disappear, hope your kayak isn't plastic either.
