Woodcock Singing - Ground Survey
I noticed there are a number of routes available across Ontario for the annual Woodcock singing survey. Unfortunately the route in my area is already taken, but I thought I would post it here for anyone eles who may be interested.
There are quite a few in my area right now. One has chosen our sideyard to sing and dance every night. I usually go out at dusk to lock the chickens up, so now I get a show. Hopefully the ice storm this weekend isn't too hard on them.

Thanks for posting this. I keep an eye out every year for a route to come up near me. For anyone who hasn't witnessed a sky dance, now is a great time. Just find a field next to some cover. If you are seeing robins, then the woodcock are here too. Fun fact: play a woodcock "peent" sound on your phone at dusk and the woodcock will respond.
