Been to Thistle (Island) Lake or Red Cedar Lake north of North Bay?

Hi

Looking at going to a place on either Thistle Lake or Red Cedar Lake (this Spring) and was wondering about others experiences there.

They are part of the same system but Red Cedar is 10x larger and much deeper. Looks to me like they would be quite different.

If you have been there would Thistle have enough structure/shoreline for five or so days of fishing? Would Red Cedar be better for that length of time?
If you have fished both what choice would you make?

We would be primarily after Bass and Pike.

I have not fished Red Cedar for quite a few years - but there is more than enough water for a week of fishing.

We caught lots of walleye and pike in the second most south bay of the system, Lots of shallow weedbeds loaded with fish.

Also got a few larger Northerns near the whitewater inflow from the North west river.

I’ve fished at Thistle Lake a few times. It’s not huge, but the shoreline is good for a relaxed few days of fishing. For bass and pike, both lakes can work well, but I liked Thistle’s cozy vibe for long trips. Red Cedar is great if you want more space, though it might take a bit more time to explore.
