Anyone using one-used one?
What are the experiences with it-especially gun kick and effective range?
Thanx

I had a new Marlin 1895 in .45-70Gov. A buddy needed one and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It was a nice, well put together unit that worked flawlessly. It's effective range using Hornady LeveRevolution 325gr was 2MOA @ 100M. It was a thumper without doubt about as much recoil as a 20ga. Being a dedicated Ruger fan,I kinda regret selling it,but,it's not far away.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....
I've used a few in that range, and they’re generally a blast. The recoil isn’t too bad, especially compared to some other rifles. The kick is noticeable but not overwhelming, more of a solid thump than a sharp snap. As for range, I’d say you can comfortably hit targets up to 150-200 yards, but beyond that, it starts to get tricky with accuracy.
I have a Remington era Marlin SBL. I have taken a bear and a small buck with it. I am now really wanting a Ruger era in the trapper specification.
You'd be crazy not to get one : )

I have a marlington XLR in 45-70. The factory loads for it are weak. I'm a .444 fan, and the .45-70 was a big disappointment.
