I'll be honest, I'm really impressed that you were able to get the information directly from the source. I feel like picking up the phone and making that connection is something completely lost by my generation and beyond. Although I did grow up using land line and fax for the most part I feel like the Internet has really removed that Avenue from my consciousness.

There is nothing to beat a face to face meeting with people to get the feel of where they are coming from and even in a telephone conversation you can tell where folks are coming from. From talking to her I went onto research another "bear person" for want of a better word. I got his name from lisening to a pod cast of Susan and she mentioned he is really one of the top bear researchers.

From reading some of his bio on numerous sites he is quite the character and well worth reading about if you are into finding infromation about the true nature of black bears.
