    Default Outfitters for Residents

Hi, does anyone know of any outfitters, that accept ontario residents? I want to go deer hunting up north around dryden, kenora etc. I can't seem to find any outfitters that offer anything for ontario residents.

Weird I would think most outfitters would be happy to take your money. How many have you contacted? There is the risk if the outfitters has bait or hot spots on Crown land that a resident could show up later on his own and hunt those spots.

Yeah, that's the draw back of outfitting. Some outfitters won't cater to resident hunters for that very reason and it's infuriating. Others will, but, the price has to be right. Outfitter BMA's only guarantee hunting exclusivity from other outfitters. Resident hunters may hunt wherever they please as long as the area isn't closed. If someone is a novice hunter,I heartily recommend finding a good outfitter making sure his palm is well greased. You won't regret it.

If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

IMHO you are aiming too high (north) for deer hunting!
While there ARE deer in those areas, your luck can be much better in the southern parts of the province!
Recently, a new gun shop opened in Uxbridge, and they have some sort of service to help new hunters.
I don't think you can call them "outfitters" but they provide land + stands + guidance.
You can research them, and - if possible - go see them in the Port Perry Gun Show Sunday June 8.
    Good Luck!
