So Chat GPT gave me this.
Domain & Ownership
The domain was registered just March 15, 2025 (about 3 months ago) via Dynadot by “Alexandro Quesada” in Nelson, BC. It’s hosted behind Cloudflare, with a moderate trust score of 60/100—suggesting caution is warranted

.
Community & Reputation Warnings
A similar CBC (Canadagunnutz) post mentions “Fake ammo sites”—flagging them as scams
wideners.com+5reddit.com+5canadiangunnutz.com+5
.
Examples include sites abruptly asking for e‑transfers only, questionable grammar/content, and misleading layouts—common scam red flags
reddit.com+1canadiangunnutz.com+1
.
Limited Contact & No Verifiable Address
The “Contact Us” page lacks a physical address and phone number—only email/payment details (often e‑transfer). That’s a major red flag for any Canadian firearms/ammo retailer.
Comparison with Legitimate Canadian Ammo Retailers
Reliable Ottawa-area ammo/firearms sellers (e.g., Sports Action, That Hunting Store, Canada First Ammo) all provide real storefront addresses and local phone numbers

.
AmmoSupplyCanada offers none of that transparency.
⚠️ Red Flags Summary
Brand-new domain (<3 months old)
No physical presence or phone number
Only e-transfer payment (very atypical for legit retailers)
Community warnings and scam comparisons from firearms forums
Caution score from Gridinsoft suggesting “trusted but verify”

I am still waiting to see if they answer my email. My opinion is they are a scam. I know of all the gun shops in Ottawa.

Thank you all for the feedback. This is educational and very helpful.
My dad was scammed for $23,000 this past February where the scammers got hold of his banking and visa.
Was a hard hit for a 85 year old retiree.
I am more weary of and new sites.
Glad you are all here for support to a fellow hunter regardless of the topic.

I have ordered ammo online from Ellwood Epps. It is shipped by UPS and somebody has to be home to sign for it. I don't remember what the shipping cost me but definitely cheaper than driving up there to get it.

I did email them and asked if I could pick up ammo at there store in Ottawa since I live here. I did did receive a reply saying that were not set up for on-site retail sales. I asked where the warehouse was located in Ottawa and didn't get a response.
