Ontario residents without a licence can once again fish for free during the return of Family Fishing Week from June 28 to July 6, 2025.

There are only four weekends within one year in Ontario that offer "Free Fishing". If that's all you need, by all means stop buying your licence that allows 365 days of fishing, and join the buss loads on those "Free" days.

I stand corrected bud. There is a week long period once a year. We're all going to meet at Albion for that week.

Four times a year, Canadian residents can fish in Ontario for free. This means you do not need to buy a fishing licence if you want to fish during:

• Family Fishing Weekend (February 15–17, 2025)
• Mother’s Day Weekend (May 10–11, 2025)
• Father’s Day Weekend (June 14–15, 2025)
• Family Fishing Week (June 28–July 6, 2025)
