    Default Ice Fishing lake Muskoka

    Hello All,

I am planning an ice fishing weekend at the cottage feb 21st this year and was wondering if there are any good ice ht opperators in muskoka. I went out with duffs cottages one year but they told me htey couldnt help me out htis year, whatever that means. I dont think they are putting huts out anymore. I have booked a hut with tim hales on simcoe, but would prefer to get somehting a bit closer to lake muskoka, maybe rosseau. I will be in milford bay, ie between port carling and bracebridge off the 118. I am going to have group up and the closer the opperator the better. These guys arent the type to wlak out with a portable in two feet of snow, which is why i was hopping to use an pperator.

Let me know if you can help

The only operator that I know of in that area is on Three Mile Lake just outside of Windermere.

    Thanks Rybak,

I called bait on the lake and they said that there are no opperators on lake muskoka this year. And i havent found any other close by. Looks like even sparrow lake doesnt have the walleye man out anymore. I am not sure of what i will do. The people i am bringing up wont be too interested in driving to beaverton and paying 55 a person to fish for the day. What is the name of the perator on three mile, maybe i will give him a call.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Deuc,

Try Backwater Bait and Tackle on Midland Bay.. Not too far.

Birchdale Cottages is the place on 3 Mile Lake near Windermere, but you'll be fishing for Perch and Walleye rather than Lake Trout like on the big lakes...

    Hey Big D,

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and booked birchdale. Not exactly what i wanted to go out for but its close to the cottage and will make things easier. Usualy i go out myself with my hut for pearch. I fogured a nive heated hut would be good for some guys that don't fish very often. Any advice for technique for walleye? I would like to get a walleye, for pearch i might as well just walk out on simcoe, rather than pay for a hut.

One day i will get a laker, just probably not this season, running out of time. I may try cutting some holes my self this weekend on lake muskoka, i have been skunked every year so far. Not too sure what i am doing wrong. I think i will walk way out this year to a shoal that looks t be about 50 fow, near 100+. Or should i just go to where it is realy deep?

    Default Lake Muskoka

I fished close to walkers point last Saturday for about 2 hrs. One hit. I had good luck out there several weeks ago on a williams gold/silver. I've spent most of this winter scouting for winter walleye close on Lake Muskoka.

    Hi guys,

For now this will do. I am going to be up this weekend as well. Was hoping to get out on sunday, saturday is reserved, ha. Anyways im located in milford bay and i have a single portable that i can pull pretty far. Is anyone heading that way that would like someone to tag along. I am always open to learning new tehcniques and meeting new people. Drop me a PM if you would liek to meet up to do some laker fishing.

Do you think you can pull a laker througha 6 inch hole, thats all i got.
