Thanks NH. I think this was the same lodge featured in the travel section of OOD a few months back. On the upper end of the travel time....but a definite maybe

There seems to be 3 lodges I can find in Gowganda:
- Gowganda Lake Camp
- Auld Reekie Lodge
- Gow-Bush-Kon Lodge
Also another but not on Gowganda lake called Northern Pine Camp.
Anyone care to compare???

Lake Herridge Lodge was awesome last year. I didn't have my licences then but the guys were up for moose and grabbed a several grouse and hares. I just fished on their lake. Walleye, bass, and perch. Right on Hwy 11 south of Temagami.

gowganda lake camp are cottages nice clean nothin special. family that owns the place is really nice. if you want to shoot birds that area is great you can limit out in half a day. we would only shoot ruffed after a couple days. not sure what the seasons are but get a wolf tag if youre interested in that kind of thing. we saw quite a few scouting but didnt get tags until the moose season started and they seemed to know to stay in the bush with all the hunters around.

Thanks again for the insight NH. Not looking for anything special....just a clean place to lay down among some game plenty water and woods
Would you say the extra 2-3 hours from Temagami to Gowganda is worth it (grouse and fishing specifically)??
