Default Delta Waterfowl vs Duck unlimited

Maybe be a stupid question. But what is the difference between delta and DU? I believe they are both conservation agencies but is one better then the other? I would like to volunteer in one of this conservation agencies and help in clean ups/habitat work.

I like both oraganizations, they are each unique. DU is all about habitat protection. Delta does habitat protection, but they also support programs like predator trapping and "Hen Houses". IMO in Canada DU has lost its way from being a hunting organization to a more wussified politically correct "nature" organization. It's still a good group that does good work but it's not about hunters and hunting anymore.

Both are great organizations however please take the opportunity to visit DU again, they are very supportive of hunters and recognize that waterfowlers are the grassroots of the organization.

Seems to be the false perpsective of DU not supportive of the hunting group and I am not sure where this is coming from?

Its simple marketing for DU, spread your cause to as many people that you can. If your a company why try and target only one demographic, successful business and organizations don't do that. DU has several best dressed camo events throughout the year all over Ontario. Seems to me that would appeal to hunters.

I support both groups but I do know with my Delta memebership I get an honest to goodness hunting magazine and with DU I get a kiss-me-butt corporate 10 page rag leaflet (conservator?) that rarily if ever has anything to do with hunting. I think you can get a hunting mag with DU but I think you have to pony up extra money???

    Just sayin

Compare the DU Canada website and their poor excuse for a magazine with the DU US website and magazine, you'll find your answer.

Have you ever been to the prairies to see how much land Ducks Unlimited owns out there. They do so much conservation work. I don't understand how anyone who is somewhat informed can't see all that they do for ducks. Ducks Unlimited isn't a organization that is for preserving hunters it's for preserving waterfowl and habitat. I think every waterfowl hunter should donate either there time or some extra funds for organizations like Delta and DU.

When i renewed my subscription I asked to get the American version and I didn't have to pay but that was a few years ago. There is a DU office in Barrie here so i just pick up the magazine from there

to be honest a few months back I did contact DU Canada to express my concerns regarding the lack of hunting content in their publications and organization in general. I got a call back within a few hours and the girl on the other end took down my concerns and we spoke for over 1/2 hour. We chose to agree to disagree regarding DUC's direction but I did appreciate the call-back.

Bottom line is that I still don't have a decent magazine.
