Post new thread vs Post reply
I never had this problem with the old platform, and maybe I'm the only one who does with the new setup, but I keep accidentally posting a new thread when I just want to reply to an existing one. Luckily the lack of a title leads to a popup that warns me before it goes live and I can cut, go back, click the appropriate button, and then paste. The buttons look the same and are right next to each other. I'm usually pretty savy with websites, but for some reason, it is something I just keep doing wrong. If anyone else has this problem, maybe it would be appropriate to move the new thread button elsewhere. I don't know why you'd read a thread, get to the bottom and then want to post new thread anyway. Usually, you'll post new threads from the main forum thread listing anyway, not from within a thread.

Not sure if this will help you, but I never touch the "Reply to thread" button as just below, is the quick reply box that you can just type your reply in and then click "post quick reply" below it.

The Post New Thread button was added as a convenience so that users didn't have to leave the thread if they wanted to start a new thread.
The issue may be the positioning of the buttons.
Maybe the reply one should be on the right and the post new thread on the left.
Curious - has anyone else had this problem where they accidentally click the Post New Thread button when they want to reply? If so, let me know and I will look into either switching the buttons around or removing the Post New Thread button altogether.

That should help. And maybe a "reply to thread" to the right of the "post new thread" at the top of the page. I often read just the OP and then want to reply without reading the whole thread. I read the post, click the button at the top (which is "reply" on most forums) and then have to go back and try again.
I know it's knit picky and it's definitely not a big deal. Just a little tweak to improve on the experience.

Switched them around so Post New Thread is now on left and Reply to Thread is now on right.
Note: you can quickly reply to any post or thread by using the reply buttons under the post (assuming you are reading the thread from a PC and not mobile)

Thanks. I know that the individual reply buttons and the quick reply at the bottom of the page. Just after a decade of the buttons being in the same place on every forum, it threw me. This should be much better.

I'm still hitting the "new thread " button, typing, then having to go back and do it again, with the reply button. Slow learner.

I see that you've added one to the top and switched both around. Thanks for the changes!
