Bear Creek Cottages
Heading to Bear Creek Cottages in the new year and was wondering if anyone has been there? I have stayed at Idle Tymes for a number of years and they are switching us over to these cottages this year. Does anyone that stayed there have pictures of the huts? What is the usual species that is caught or is it basically the same all over?

We stayed at Sunset Cove for 3 or 4 years in a row and then switched over to Bear Creek Cottages for a couple years ... we caught perch, walleye and some ling .... one year was better than the other ..neither was non stop action ... the service we did get was great ... I can't find any pictures of the hut for you but I remember them being average .... not sure where we're going this year ... still waiting for my Buddies to get off their butts and make a call somewhere ... last year I ended up just staying at Terrace Suites for a few nights and pulling my portable out on my own ... it worked out well ...moved around from day to day and caught fish ...I have a feeling that Bear Creek Cottages is under new ownership since the times that we stayed there ....m

We also stay at Sunset Cove, although Bear Creek is not far away, and looks nice from what I have read. I also believe it is under new management as well (at least since a few years ago)
The fishing is probably pretty close to the same in most parts of the south bay area, We did really good last year with the Perch & Pickeral. Saw some people catch some huge pike and herring in that area too!

Stayed there a couple years ago with the old owner. Things were starting to get run down a little but I'm sure the new owners knew what they were getting into and are working at it. They may have combined some of their Idle Tyme stuff with Bear Creek's as well.

They are right beside scotts (chilly willy), if they have fishing huts around his bungalo's fishing will be good. Actually its all good around there. Mostly walleye and pike. But you'll get ling at and after dark and we've even got the odd whitefish. Last year was a bumper crop of 12-15" eyes. So this year look for them to be just inside the slot. Should be another good year.

Thanks guys. We have been staying with the present owners for the last few years. Just worried about hut size with the size of guys that are coming. I love their grey huts out of Idle Tymes.

Have been going out with Shawn and Tara for the past 2 years and it has been by far the best service and fishing we have had in our 15 years of fishing nipppissing . Very friendly staff and seem to know the lake and are always willing to help .We stay in the 6 man on ice bungalows and find they have plenty of room and very clean. 28 of us heading up there Jan 5th to the 8th . Try and leave us a few fish.
