Anyone have any reports about fishing and travel conditions on the lake. Is the ice road good to go. Heading up next week, any reports would be great.

    Cheers

I can say Sudbury area the lakes are slushy with all the snow we have on top of ice making it hard for travelling only snowmachines or walking

I was in Temagami for 10 days got back on the 11 th . If you are going up there make sure to bring a good pair or rubber boots . The snow was 2 plus feet with 6 inches of water under it . Ice travel was terrible , fishing was slow but we did catch fish every time out . The day after I left they got a mixture of snow and rain so when it freezes up conditions might be better . We caught Whitefish, Walleye, Lakers (out of season so released ) and a 3 1/2 pound Smallmouth also released . We tried to get into a back lake for Specks but with all the slush under the snow it was not meant to be . As for the bite it was mostly very light but the odd Laker would come in a smash a jig . My best Walleye was 25 inches and she played with my minnows for about 15 minutes before I finally got a hook set .
The ice road is clear and good we went 100 feet off it and drilled a couple holes to try and find a spot we could keep dry feet but as soon as the auger went through the water gushed up and slushed our area .

Thanks for the report. We are heading to Bluehaven (formerly Becca's Haven) next Thursday the 23rd to the 26th. We've been heading there for 20 years...always a great time. Hopefully the bite will be on!

I just got back from Tamar. Lots of snow on the ice, with the rain on Saturday it was a real mess. Made travel difficult. If we get some cold temps everything should freeze up nice for you.
We found the bite VERY light. Caught Lakers (released), Whities, Herring, Walleye and Ling. A lot of smaller fish. Like I said the bite was really light, we had to use spring bobbers and pay close attention.
Wishin' my livewell was as full as my tacklebox.

thanks Jordan. We had similar conditions there past two years during this time.

Did Bruce have minnows this year or you brought your own?
