    Default Perching jan 20 2014

Finally was able to make it up with two of my best buds yesterday for a day on the water , got to the lake at first light and setup , ice was plenty thick was able to drive the truck out to fishing grounds ,
setup the new popup I got and away we went ,
meet iced around 120 perch ,
    94 jumbos
    A few good lunker gators
And even a few large mouth , which were released right away ,
    fishing was awesome,
    enjoy the pics
    Big large mouth

it was sure cold out perch froze instantly

average size 11 to 12 inch to at 14 and a few small ones that swallowed the hooked ,
definitely made the 2 hour trek up there worth it .

I spoke with Andrew one of the owners , he was sincerely sorry for what happened and opted to offer me free minnows to show he ment it , that spoke a lot of words for me , he seemed like a real stand up guy, the arse hole that pulled the stunt has been fired and he made sure to introduce me to his other drivers , all seemed like good guys ,
he also had a coffee ready for me apon arrival which was nice of him ,it takes a lot I think as an operator to go out of your way and do what he did to make things right and for that my hat is off to him . I will continue to give him my business when I go up that way ,

And as for the cleaning part it took 2 hours to scale and clean , 3 of us , so not to bad , the bear claw scaler got a workout that's for sure

To add we fished all day in the exact spot where the incident happened and him nor the other operator came within 500 yards of us , which was nice for a change not to have anyone buzzing us on sleds or machines .

Wow, nice haul, I have been out to VB a few times and had pretty slow days, you found yourself a nice little hole. Saw your other post over on the cooks bay forum, glad things got sorted out with the operator.

Definitely a nice haul. Is that the hut that's on sale at Canadian Tire right now for $179.99? If so, let me know what you think. Thinking of picking one up tonight or tomorrow.

The hut is the 6 man rapala I think on for 299 I just bought this one the other day from ctc at the original one was stolen when my vehicle got stolen ,
the hut is awesome I love it , they say it's a 6 man but u can get more like 8 in it , fish 4 with lots of room and big fold out lawn chairs , very easy to setup as well takes about 20 seconds to pull it open than just clear it in and pack the snow around it .
Worth te money if your thinking about buying a hub style hut
