Anyone know roughly when they release the dates of the upcoming season? Just looking to book time off now so I don't get screwed for the opener

Aaron's right - the new regs are available Aug 1st with your Migratory Bird License and online slightly sooner than that.
However, the season framework is actually laid out as a law and may be found at the link below - scroll down to Ontario. James Bay and Northern ON seasons are based on actual set dates every year and Central and Southern ON are based on set days every year.
http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/r...5/page-14.html
Example - regular goose season
James Bay District September 1st EVERY year
Southern District For a period of 106 days beginning on the last Saturday in September
(where Sunday gun hunting is permitted)
Early goose Southern ON is for a period of 11 days begining on the first Thursday after Labour Day.
(pay attention to the footnotes regarding Sunday hunting and if Labour Day falls on Sep 1 or 2 etc.)
Save this link - you'll be able to figure out every year when opener is being held for your area - until they change it..............lol.

Andy - I seem to be missing the affect when labour day falls on Sept 1 (as it does this year). Early goose still the thursday after labour day?

Hey Greg
Labour Day falling on Sep 1 or 2 doesn't have any bearing on the early goose start/duration just on the regular goose season which drops from 96 to 95 days or 106 to 105 days depending if you're in an area with Sunday hunting. (Refer to column 4 of attached table for Southern District)

Thanks for the clarification, I volunteer to work the Labour Day weekend so that I may take the Thursday and Friday off, after I saw you post to pay attention I became concerned. All is good now!
