After lot of research, asking and reading on the 12 gauge combos I narrowed it down to the 870 Express vs. Mossberg 535 combo.
Will probably go with the 535 mainly because of the up to 3 1/2" shells if/when I need to use them and also some reports I've read about rust problems with the 870.
Finding a good deal on a new 535 proved to be impossible mission though. I've been checking everywhere...not a single good deal...even for Boxing day...so if someone knows where I can buy a new 535 combo for less than $600 out the door let me know please.
Cheers,
Ice Fisherman

Has too much time on their hands
I'm looking for a Mossberg 500.. Don't really Care if its a combo.. As long as it has threads I'll be happy.. I'll settle for a Remington if $$ comes in the way. Don't like the safety on the remington.. As much as the Mossberg.

I'm hoping to buy another SxS or an O/U this year. I'd like a Savage Mark II as well but I'm not looking hard for one.

I'd agree with the 10/22 part but be cautious with the 25 round magazines. I returned two of the three I bought because they would jam up. Instead, I bought four of the 10 round OEM magazines from Brownell's and have been happy as a clam with those. I don't even use the one 25 round magazine or the speed loader I bought.

Spray a little Remington Dry Lube in them and see the difference.

I did my shopping for the year already. Local shop had a no tax sale that ran the week before Xmas til the end of Dec. Picked up a new Savage 17HMR the first week, and ended up going back and getting a new Weatherby SA-08 the next week. Figure I better slow down for a bit.

Just got my first gun this November, went with the Remington Versa Max and it had been an awesome shot gun for me. This year i am looking at getting either a 223 or a 243 for coyote hunting. I like the Savage Axis but also looking at the Remington 770.

Axis, hands down. The 770s are crap.

Hmmmm....got too dang many guns. I need to divest myself of a few first. Then I may get a nice .300 H&H Model 70 or a Model 1886 .33 Winchester. Or a Winchester or Marlin in .38-55.
