turkey mount

I Saved my turkey fan from this past season and finally got around to mounting it.
Bought a piece of wood from michaels (craft store), stenciled the date on, with a clear coat of polyurethane overtop. Stapled and glued the fan to the back, and pinned the picture and beard to the wood. Added some small eyebolts and picture wire to the back and hung it up. Its not allowed in the house but looks great in the garage.

Not allowed in the house? That's a shame, you did a good job.

ya its somewhat a mutual decision (but not entirely). it doesn't really match our décor. I have fought to make sure that my dads old musky mount stays inside though. the garage is where all my hunting stuff is and where I am going to hang a bunch of fishing and hunting pics and memorabilia anyways.

Very creative and nice looking I'm sure in your man cave. Have you thought of perhaps rounding out the corners of your photo to make it blend in a bit better? Just a suggestion, otherwise it looks great.

i dont like how the corners kind of curl outwards. thats not a bad idea to cut a curve the corners to make it look like a more vintage photo. I also considered putting some plexi glass over the pic to make it flatter and hopefully a little more durable. still have my first tom fan from 3 years ago, so might make a 2.0 version. I also want to use a smaller piece of wood, and maybe cut and selected by me, but thats all they had at Michaels.
