Default New toy 17 HMR single shot

The new 17WSM rimfire caught my attention over a year ago. With little patience I grew tired of waiting for availability in Canada as well as the many problems the new Savage BMag 17 WSM has had by reading owners reports. Hopefully more gun makers jump on board to support this speedy new rimfire cartridge.

I heard that H&R has stopped production of the 17 sportster so I snapped one up. This bull barrel gun can be reamed out to 17 WSM easily as the design is so simple keeping my options open.

For now I intend to enjoy punching some paper and taking out a few crows and ground hogs in the spring. I am hoping for good accuracy as the 17 is known for. My trigger seems ok and not too stiff for such a low priced gun.

Thanks to the great service and prices at Lebaron I was able to set this up this past week. I have been a happy LeBaron customer for over 30 years. The gun was only $186 out the door with my 10% club card discount!

Pretty sweet setup. I have the same scope on my 243. Seems to do the trick and can't best the price

Now that all the winds have settled I get it dialed in and try for some long range crows and will certainly attempt some groundhogs in the early spring.
