I'll be keeping an eye out for an H&R Handi Rifle in .357 Mag.
Just for a plinker and maybe some close range pest control.

Will probably go with the 535 mainly because of the up to 3 1/2" shells if/when I need to use them and also some reports I've read about rust problems with the 870.

Finding a good deal on a new 535 proved to be impossible mission though. I've been checking everywhere...not a single good deal...even for Boxing day...so if someone knows where I can buy a new 535 combo for less than $600 out the door let me know please.

Friend of mine picked up his 535 at Trombley's in Orillia as part of their Xmas sale. I don't remember the price exactly, but I know its under $600 for sure.

I'd agree with the 10/22 part but be cautious with the 25 round magazines. I returned two of the three I bought because they would jam up. Instead, I bought four of the 10 round OEM magazines from Brownell's and have been happy as a clam with those. I don't even use the one 25 round magazine or the speed loader I bought.
Steel lips or the plastic? I just found a 10/22 bnib for sale so I bought it as they are hard to come by at the local gun shops and haven't had an issue yet with the steel lip 25 clip.

I am looking for a good varmit gun this year 22-250 or 223 still undecided, and going to get into shot gun hunting for deer rather than just bow so may pick something up there too... Then a moose gun, deer rifle for up north, turkey gun, home defence what other excuses can we use to buy another? Addicting..

Just located a nice winchester 1300 speed pump in 20ga, now looking for a 7mm-08 for the fiance as she just started hunting, then hopefully another 870 and SKS for myself

    Fox,
Friend here at work just bought an SKS. I will see if he can give me the details of where he got it.

They sell Russian made sks from that hunting store. Don't get the norinco. They sell the bulk ammo.

They come into That Hunting and Fishing store in Richmond all the time, those guys keep me updated. The biggest thing at the moment is trying to sort out some tools for my fiance to use, she is only 5'1" and my guns are all standard LOP and heavy, I shoot a 6.5x55mm mauser but it weighs almost 10lbs loaded. The SKS would be for range time and the 7mm-08 youth or with a cut down stock for her as a deer/moose rifle, I do plan on reloading for it so yes moose in the future .

It has a short stock. But is still somewhat heavy. I love mine. Shoots great. Once I removed all the cosmolene. I purchased mine from wholesale exports out of Calgary. Shipped to the door for 250. Have to keep this gun especially clean. It is known for hammer fires fur to the floating pin.
