This is a video put out by Excalibur comparing several bows doing scientific experiments.I know that the test is biased since its made by Excalibur but it is pretty cool to watch. Check it out.

They've been running a variation of this pretty heavily on WildTV, showing all the other bows in the "shooter machine" all failing.

I'm an excalibur guy 100% and they're the only bow I'd ever use. However the "we're better than the rest" vids kinda turn me off. Not enough to switch brands but I'm not a fan of ads like that...period. Kinda reminds me of election time.

    Interesting video.
Can anyone identify the bows that failed?
I find it funny though that most of the bow failures were strings breaking and they say the Excaliburs had the strings periodically replaced, not sure if you can call that a direct comparison. It would be interesting to see the failure point if all the bows had the strings periodically replaced.

Very true. Also I'm not sure if they compared top of the line bows against each other. We saw this on another thread a while back comparing a top of the line model to a bottom of the line model.

I am guessing the compound crossbows was from Winchester Archery, PSE Archery and Parker Bows.

I would be curious to see Excalibur crossbows compared to other recurve crossbows. The test clearly shows that recurve crossbows are better than compounds, but it doesn't say anything about other recurve crossbow manufacturers.

eg. Horton Archery makes both compound crossbows and recurve crossbows, so it would be interesting to see if Excalibur recurves are better than Horton recurves.

I will upfront admit I have not watched the video, I have seen the advertisement on TV. But from what others have said, they admit to changing the string on the Excal; but say nothing about maintenance on the compounds. That in the video they only compared the Excal to compounds and not to other recurves. What would anyone expect, it is advertising after all not a science based study where they actually compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
