Love Low brass Kent #5 or 6
For jacks #2 or #4 ( even 3" is OK) especially on windy days.

When my buddies and I all owned beagles and hunted snowshoe hares hard all season my favorite load was 11/8oz of #5 shot. Usually went clean through and you had less pellet holes.

That is great advice for anyone rabbit hunting,
When they are on the move let out a sharp loud whistle, stops em quick as they try and figure out where it came from, gives you a second or two to aim and fire.

We used to just shoot them. When hunting with beagles they usually were in high gear until they caught a load of shot.
