Really sorry to hear about this, happens up here all the time, rarely is anyone ever caught. Seems in the same night they are joy rided and burned in a pit, or stripped immediately and the parts are all shipped to be sold off.
I hope they find them.

Good Question Jeff. When I spoke to my Neighbor Jamie, he implied no insurance. I'll speak to him again - (perhaps he needs a lawyer to deal with his Ins carrier).
As far as Pic's go - yes take Pic's of everything you own. Also mark your equipment i.e. motor in the event someone does steal and strip for sale.
On another note - this is the 3rd sled stolen in the past week along with 3 Huts. All from Lake Simcoe area. These criminals are out there - I live just off the lake and traffic is heavier after midnight -vehicles just going up and down. I installed a 30 day loop camera - if I become a victim, I'll have something to take to the police.

Usually motor vehicles aren't covered by home insurance. I know how your buddy feels. I had one stolen out of my driveway years ago. Sitting in a trailer middle of the day. Insurance covered the sled but I did not have theft coverage on the trailer. Cops told me that the sled likely went straight to Quebec where they get torn down for parts.

Thieves are everywhere. Left the house about 6:45 this morning, by 9 some scum stole my snowblower from the side of the house.

That stinks! Cruise the neighborhood next snowfall, see who has a nicely snowblown driveway that didn't before

I know my home insurance covers anything stolen out of my truck - aka, if the sled is in the back of my truck and is taken. I would assume garage would work in a similar fashion?
I will keep my eye out on Simcoe and surrounding area. Best of luck.
