While Conron may have been well meaning in his efforts its has become socially unacceptable in most circles to do what needs to be done to turn a dog from a mutt into a legitimate breed with a set of standards. Maybe 100yrs ago but with the internet and society always going from trend to trend it was doomed from the start.

He didn't bargain on celebrities buying the dogs and touting them as some kind of superbreed. That's what really created the designer dog problem.

He's come out and said this before. He's pretty ticked off about what happened.

Can't say I blame him if he pulled it off the way he intended without it getting out of hand like it did. It's a good theory a service dog that doesn't leave fur all over for people to clean up.

Well, Martin doesn't need a renaissance.

I do know one guy who traded an aluminum boat to his brother for a Gibson Hummingbird in about 1968 ... guess who got the better end of that deal. That thing sounds amazing.

    But I digress.

Oucccch!!....you didn't! Truthfully....I did the same in the late 70's early 80's.....traded a few nice ones...a Beauty Burst Les Paul and a Gibson SG....but who knew the vintage guitar market would be where its at today....heck, I would have bought a boatload of pre-war D-28's and 18"s back then. Isnt this a way better topic than those Mutts you guys started talking about?

Most purebred dogs started out many years a go as a mixed bag of this and that. If Conron used genectically healthy animals to create labradoodles do you think the end result would of been different ? The Chinook was created many years ago as a heavy hauling sled dog with mixed lineage and still exist today as a very hardy breed.

I have a custom songwriter, was even invited to factory to see the last bit put together. Same as my Les Paul. There is only one of each in exsistance. Too bad I don't know how to play
