Deer in trouble/where is the money
Apparently there is NO money from the mnr to feed the deer in ontario "The decision has been made at the MNR provincial office that there will no longer be an emergency deer feeding program anywhere in the province." So where did the money go that people donated for deer feed. This winter is going to be deadly on the most herds in ontario

Liberals put it into Ontario Hydro repayment!
Seriously though with the offices and parks closing up, phone in services etc. wonder where all of it is going??? License fees up, additional seals, recent elk tag lotto similar to moose, some other sector of govt. Must be getting there hands on it! I've already written and talked to my local MP about MNR reductions.

Luckily there are plenty of cedars and a few standing corn fields near the area I hunt because it looks like it will be a real tough winter....

It was used in 2009 per this. Even then they required aid from the OFAH
ON, O.F.A.H. MEDIA RELEASE –(March 4, 2009) – White-tailed deer in some parts of central Ontario are experiencing severe winter conditions for the first time in almost a decade, so the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) is putting out a call to its members, clubs and the general public for assistance in supporting the emergency relief efforts of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (M.N.R.).In late February, M.N.R. district offices in Parry Sound/Bracebridge, Minden/Bancroft, and Pembroke, began delivering emergency conservation measures to aid struggling deer, with help from fish and game clubs and some First Nations.

Fished a stocked lately? How about hunted a turkey? Planning on hunting elk some day in Ontario? I got checked by a CO today while fishing, out enforcing the fishing regulations. All of these things are what MNR is doing for YOU.
