Has too much time on their hands
ML other calibers, than .50
Been reading alot on these types of ML guns lately, checked Bass Pro selection (in US only). Where can you buy .30 cal, you know small game type ML suppliers in the Ottawa Area... Also looking on gunnutz at ,mil surplus and I guess the way I am leaning to making my own boolits for older type guns an ML. Or do any of you have one for sale...

a .30 cal.round ball is very small,I shoot .50 and.54, for small game I would try to get a .40 or maybe a .36..

take a look at Pedersoli they make some small cal. rifles, but a .30 or .32 are pea size, and can be very hard to ram down the bore, because the ram rod is so skinny and fragile.

For small game you can load down a .50 cal to just 40 or 50 grs of powder and have a load that will kill snowshoes dead without destroying the meat.

Weight would be different with the lighter gun though. A friend brought over an old smooth bore muzzle loader, the thing looks like a 410 but I have not verified the bore diameter.
Why not a 30 cal front stuffer for small game, sounds like an awesome idea to me.
I would not be too worried about the ramrod, just use a short starter so that your ramrod is already in the bore and you should not have too much bend to it. If you do then switch to a graphite pole or carbon fiber rod in place of the wooden ramrod.
