No store bought loads for #7, lead. I thought it felt a bit light on the punch. Trying to post the pictures but it having a difficult time. Forum says I am over limit by 24.8 kilobits...whatever that means...arrgghh.

It has been a while since I did any reloading, all my stuff is in boxes in the garage .

I do remember something about wad pressure and crimp pressure being specific to heavy loads. I only reloaded target loads and light field loads in the 12ga but it may be worth looking into. My fear I guess with the light pop on your shoulder would be more about a lack of energy behind the pellets, a low velocity due to something.

It shouldn't matter #7 or buck. If the pellet load is the same weight and velocity is the same the recoil should be the same.

Ya, I understand that and used the right setting on MEC 600 for crimp and wad depth for 12 ga.

Killed a lot of those critters with 2 3/4 " # 2's up to 55 yards.Copper shot and buffer makes a huge difference.
All around best we found was BB's for shots a little longer.Drops em cold.
Lots of guys love 4 buck and larger buckshot for sure. But we found fewer pellets meant less success.

I used to reload and loaded a magnum duck load in low brass shells all the time and had no problems.

Did you try the loads with different chokes or just the one?
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
