Just watched this video, make your own judgment but the comments I have read don't support his actions.

I understand it and I would have to support his actions if he did not shoot until it started to charge again. Since he started shooting with the animal broadside or slightly away from him, not moving in his direction I think he may be in hot water here.

Im surprised he took the kicks to the chest without dropping. Must have deflected off the windshield.
That said, hes a dumbass. Should have backed off instead of creeping forward. And warning shots might have worked. And why the hell didnt he put one into its noggin to make sure it was down for good?

As it was running towards him at first he had justification, his actual shots seemed to be only vengeance rather then self defense.

I watched the video. Does anyone else see the same thing?
The moose appears in the first part of the video well ahead on the trail. Unless there are other circumstances I fail to see why he didn't just wait the moose out.
Having experience with moose driving through northern New Brunswick I know that they eventually walk off if given the chance.
I am assuming this occured in the States since he had a Glock handy.
Flat out there was no good reason that I can see that it was necessary to down that animal.

Why didn't he just back off and let the Moose go by? It was reluctant to get off the trails due to the deep snow. He could have easily fired warning shots in the air and if the Moose attacked after that then he might be justified. I think he should be charged.

I'm surprised that Glock dropped the Moose, for a little 9MM,they're a lot more powerful than we think. What would ever possess the rider to bark like a dog? It only served to agitate the animal. This guy's just a goof. All he needed to do was turn off his machine and sit there, quietly and be ready to move his butt out of the way. If he had have done that and the Moose still attacked,I would agree that he shot it in self defense, but, what he did was stupid. Charge him.Let a Judge sort it out.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Near as I can tell this occurred in the New Hampshire area. He needs to go to jail on so many levels not the least of which is plain stupidity.
