They write down your PAL at Basspro too when buying ammo. Its not a big deal if you think of the amount of unlicensed (criminal) people that might be wanting to try to buy ammo.

Well then the CT in Richmond Hill isn't following the law.
It has been law in Ontario since 1994 that retail sales of ammunition are recorded. It's a provincial regulation.

Now that being said, I'm still no closer to making my decision then I was before lol.
Don't buy a Remington unless it's an old wing master. The quality control isn't what it use to be. Go for a Mossberg.

I don't blame a store for doing it and don't mind letting them take a quick look. Don't know why peole would consider it enough of an irritant to complain about it, must be a slow day

really?! I just bought a bunch of ammo at walmart this morning and had to pay at the sport goods dept. but then continued to browse and then left the store a while longer ammo in hand and no one even looked at me...

I've been to Sail once, I personally have no reason to ever go back. I personally found the selection poor, while I was there I could not help but wonder about their business model.....seems to me they are targeting the urban outdoors person. I don't fit that category.

Has too much time on their hands
I found sail more of an higher end (cost wise),store for their clothjng in comparison to bp.. However. When I'm looking for something I will usually check both stores. J have found items on sale at sail.. And return to get it the next day on my commute home..

I've purchased a few things at Sail and find the check-out at the customer service is often better as there can be fewer people in line. I've never had my bag checked on the way out however. Costco is definitely a different story. I understand the whole shoplifting prevention aspect but if I've already waited 20 mins in line to pay, I refuse to wait in another line just to get out of the store. If I can walk up and have them tick off my receipt I'll stop, if there is a monstrous line, I just walk out. I've been hollered at, I just say they're welcome to walk with me and check my receipt on the way to my car.

They are just another big box store. Not very impressed either.
