Im curious if they will update the regs to reflect the 2014 dates
I'd also be wary of using a third party source when it comes to things like laws.
FYI you can download a PDF of the hunting regs directly to your smartphone. Thats what I do.

Well lookis like I not the only one with the same questions, so I email him and the reply was pretty quick. Now I ask, if you do email him questions please post the information here so we can all learn. Thank you.
"Hey Steve,
Thanks a lot for the email and the interest in iHunter.
I am just completing the iPad version for Ontario (hoping to submit it this week). If you buy the iPhone version, the iPad version will install for free on your iPad as well.
As for syncing, many customers have been very clear that they don't want the waypoint data to be stored on servers, etc. So although I want to provide automatic syncing, we don't currently. What we do provide is simple waypoint export and import. You can export all your waypoints (or those you choose) and email them to yourself or friends. The receiver can then open the file and import the waypoints.
The regulations are updated every year, free of charge, once the province releases them. Feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions and I will be glad to help out.
Thanks again,
Mark Stenroos

For me as long as they update the regs and wmu info every year for free then its well worth the hassle of the 5.99 fee .....its hard enough for me to even get my hands on a magazine with the regs and seasons in it. I know you can get em for free on line but nice to have ready all the time as my father in law is always asking for info as well and he does not use a computer lol

Agreed Twostroke. I have also emailed him to see about additional cost for features, to see if you ca use the app at any time (like you had asked) I also ask if it shows crown land..... That would be an awesome feature as the mnr atlas absolutely sucks.

Here's some more answers.
Hi Steve,
Its great to get such good questions. I appreciate you passing the info along to other users.
The base app is $5.99, however, there is an in-app purchase for a pro version. The Pro version lets you:
- filter the map based on species
- search the map for landmarks
- provides a most recently used list
- lets you favorite map areas, waypoints, and WMUs
- lets you set the default map position / zoom
- lets you draw over the map to plan hunts
- lets you do "breadcrumb" tracking just like a handheld GPS - this also provides you with an altitude and velocity profile for the trip, etc.
Almost every feature works without cell service. The boundary data, the season regulations, and the waypoint data is all on device, and just works. Even GPS signal works even when you are out of cell range (if it doesn't, your garmin / magellan isn't going to work either).
Only the base map requires cell connection, and we even provide options for getting around that. We offer 6 different map options, 3 satellite maps, 2 road maps, and a topographic map. 2 of the satellite maps, one road map, and a topo map can be cached for offline use. If you know you are going to hunt an area with no cell coverage, you can pre-browse those areas and the app will cache those map tiles onto the device, so they will be available when you don;t have coverage.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions, and as always just email if you need more answers.
Thanks,
Mark Stenroos

So I asked how much the pro version would be:
Answer: The in-app purchase (which is only available on iOS) costs $9.99
I don't know anything about BB, if it runs on android they do have an android version just google ihunter Ontario android.
I would like some of the actual user to come on and comment on this app. I'll try contacting them to see if they can give us a mini review

Hey guys, thanks for all the interest in iHunter. I am the owner / developer of iHunter and happy to answer any of your questions. With regards to reviews, the Google Play store has a 4.6 star rating, with 17 reviews. Every one of those is linked to an actual user of the product, and their contact info is actually on their review. Feel free to reach out to them. The Apple app store has about the same rating, with 10 reviews. Unfortunately, it doesn't include user's contact info there.
Unfortunately, the Android app doesn't work on BB, as it uses some Google specific components that aren't compatible. If I get a BB version running, I will make a post on the board to let your guys know.
Again, feel free to post questions here, or email me directly at [email protected]
Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will keep an eye out for updates to BB. Til then good luck. From what I have seen of the app it should be very popular and a good tool for hunters.
