The good old days when a gun was a tool and the meat was for feeding the family. Thanks for posting and bringing back the notion of what is ingrained in our DNA.

Very nice shots LIR, the other shotgun looks like my dad's old bolt action 12 gauge H&R.

More than likely. Walmsley is a common name around here.

My great grandfather was J.T Dixon and he died under mysterious circumstances on the beach at Long Point. I'm also related to the Ryerse/Ryerson's which one of the islands is named for. Rev Ryerson was involved with the company in the late 1800's. He was directly related to Col. Samuel Ryerse for whom Port Ryerse is named. He was granted a Crown Land patent in the early 1800's for his service to the Crown in the American Revolution.

    Red,

Having roots that deep and some photos to go with them is a truly wonderful thing. Keep doing what you're doing and collect those materials while recording every name, place and date you can.

My deer camp goes back 100 years and has 80 years of photos. Its great to be part of something like that, but I've got a box full of black & white hunting photos of guys who's names we will never know.
