Of course their purebred I would be flying to Wyoming to pick up some Heinz 57 mix. I was put on to stealth point by Shawn at hunters rose in Michigan. I was originally trying to get a pup from Shawn but his breeding schedule and my time that I wanted a pup didn't work out and he highly recommended stealth point. The dam of my pup is a real performer. And it just so happens that a fellow hunter friend of mine owns her sister. And from talking with Shawn at hunters rose who originally bred the dam of my pup and seeing what her sister can do there is no doubt in my mind that there is no questions about the dam. The sire was also highly recommended as being a champ with many titles to back his name. So from looking at the pedigrees from both pups as well as knowing dogs from the dams litter there was no question is my mind about what this pup could be capable of. His price was right in line with what every other breeder is asking for a pointing lab.

I checked the web page for these dogs but I can't seem to find the health clearances for these dogs. What kind of champion is the father?

By the way I know of an excellent "Move the dog" service which many have used that is very personalized. I can provide Katie's contact info if desired.

I have seen many pointing labs advertised and they look different from other field lines. How did the pointing lab as a breed develop ?

Is the pointing lab an off shoot of the American field lines ? Is it a breed that has developed between a small group of breeders that wanted to change the lab ?

I don't think there was any intent to change the 'lab' but there has been for some time a number of breeders who produce dogs that point. At times there have been crosses with field trial/hunt test dogs.

The top side of the sire is essentially some of the older FT lines. Nice to see he is EIC clear, knowing some of the individuals.

Many appear much taller, longer ,narrow head and a long curved tail not an otter tail. If you are breeding dogs that point or the intent is to produce dogs that point then change will occur. If i wanted a dog that points then i would buy a pointer. I would think taking this breeding route doesn't do the breed any good. Whosinthebushes is this what you really want ?
