Talk to line052, he used to do sniper training. With that ML and some training you will be among the most lethal snipers anyone has seen out to 150 yds. By the time you get finished reloading you may be able to slay as many as 3 or 4 zombies within 5 minutes - faster maybe if you use powder sticks and sabots (teasing).[/QUOTE]
They got the 50 cal part right ….. Haven't found the semi auto switch on it yet , I'll look again !!!

I have said it on this forum a hundred times, most police officers Know little to nothing about guns, period. The only guys who had a clue were guys on the range,SWAT teams, hunters, and lads off the farm.So in Toronto that would equal about 500 officers. The other 4,500
were able to pass and carry their Glocks and if you wanted you could qualify on a shotgun. But the general knowledge was very lacking and half the service could probably not pass the CFSC.IMHO.
As far as reporters are concerned enought said.

I'm thinking the guys on the 'Guns and Gang' unit would know the 'street' guns....at least to know the difference between a ML and a centre fire.
The Street Crime Gang Unit of Peel Regional Police entered the house, in the area of Dixie Road and Balmoral Drive, with a search warrant and report finding a .50 calibre sniper rifle and 3.8 ounces of marijuana.

On the serious side, this is just plain bad all around. On the one hand we have police unable to properly identify a firearm and on the other we have the media embellishing an error with fear mongering language.
At some point after the charges are layed, some lawyer will eat the Peel Regional for breakfast on the simple fact that their evidence now lacks credibility if they can't get something so basic as the proper identification of a sporting rifle correct.
There is room for all God's creatures - right next to the mashed potatoes!

The funny thing is...If I didn't KNOW what drug I was dealing with I KNEW to get the test kit out of my patrol car trunk and find out.
Pretty damn stupid to have some police in a Gun Crime Unit that can't ID a centerfire from a muzzleloader, that's assuming of course that they really give a crap and aren't just furthering the propaganda.

Looks like they have corrected the facts on the story to reflect the truth.

When did newspapers stop reporting news and become press release editors? There is absolutely nothing in the article that isn't taken verbatim from the press release with the exception of changing a few pronouns. I thought that was called plagiarism...

All right, who called them?
On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, a search warrant was executed at 78 Braemar Drive. Seized from the residence was a .50 calibre Savage Arms MLII (muzzle loader) hunting rifle and 3.8 ounces of marihuana.
