installing marine radio and speakers - need help
Hi,
I am looking to get a marine stereo AM/FM, SD card, USB unit with 2 speakers for my Legend Xtreme 16.
Any advise on how and where install them? How do you cut the aluminium panels?
Which battery should I use to power the radio? The starter battery or the trolling motor battery? I am concerned I might get some noise from the trolling motor if I use the same battery. Is it true?
Do you have any pictures or YouTube videos?
Thanks a lot.

I would put it on the deep cycle. Don't think noise would be an issue as long as you feed its own power and ground directly to the battery. Best way to tell would be to put on some alligator clips temporarily any try em together.
most noise or interference is caused by "ground loops" ( sharing wire) .
I have a 4 way shut off on mine so i can run the boat on battery 1, 2 or both or off.

Also am radio is very susceptible to interference caused by the motors variable speed control. Not much you can do unless you wrap your motor in lead and use a different battery lol

Install a ferrite. That could help lower the noise from the vsc..
