What ever table scraps or leftovers you have from your evening dinner. Always works for me.

Well fed cats are a nightmare to try and catch , and ones that have been cage trapped before are tough as well

Do you sink the live trap after you catch them? Just curious, lol

Canned cat food or sardines have worked well in the past. But as stated already if kitty has been in a cage before.... good luck.

Not much place to sink anything at the moment the water has all turned hard! Either the 40 gr. pill that someone mentioned earlier or hose from the exhaust pipe of the truck into a cardboard box big enough to fit over the trap.
ps caught one last night but not the one I'm after, don't think he'll be back, was just about breaking the sound barrier the last I saw of him. LOL

I don't like feral cats any more than the next guy but that's not a humane way for any cat to go.

I like using canned cat food .... Whitefish , tuna , salmon .... also try tying a feather to the trap as an attractent . Then take it to the animal shelter .

If you think you have a trap smart tom. Try covering the sides of the trap in cardboard and cover the back with a piece of white paper so to hide the wire and make it look more like a tunnel. Place your cat food inside and away you go.

A neighbor said he used to catch the hard to get cats by putting used cat litter from his moms female cat in the trap with the bait. Not sure if he's truthful but it makes sense I suppose.
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Laugh if you wish but I had good luck one time at a deer camp where we had one raiding our food. I placed some Halloween candy wrappers in the cage and caught the ugliest feral cat I have ever seen. We all got a good chuckle out of it!
