Female Hunters in USA Are On The Rise
The number of women in the USA that are taking up hunting is on the rise.

I wonder if Canada is following the same trend?

A bad day hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work.

Nice article, especially for NAT GEO.
I would hazard a guess the trend is occuring here well. Definately theres a large upswing in fishing, and hunting while harder to see first hand, you can see how the big box stores are trying atleast a little to meet some demand.

This should have happened many years ago, hunting is something that has always included family for me, nothing wrong with mother and daughter joining the boys.

If I could only get my wife to hunt...would be perfect.
There is room for all God's creatures - right next to the mashed potatoes!

I often mention this to my wife. She counters with a pretty good point - If she hunted too, it might cut in to my hunting time even more because if she was as obsessed with hunting as I am, there would be competition for the little hunting time that is available. I might get stuck with the kids on opening morning while she is out hunting. They don't make Baby Bjorns in camo, so I can't bring my 16 month old into the treestand.

My GF loves nothing more than throw a sleeping bag in the back of the truck with little else and see where the road takes us. Loves time in the bush at a cabin where theres no electricity, no running water except the waterfall and mice in the cabin. Feel like ive found nirvanna.
She did the OHEP and got her PAL a couple years ago. Were hoping maybe this year she takes her first WT.

Has too much time on their hands
My ex-wife is a great small-game hunter; she can find rabbits or grouse any time. She dislikes guns so only uses a bow. And to make it harder, a recurve: no scope, sights or release.

I guess because more and more guys are heading to the Spa for mani-pedis, makeovers and cosmetic surgery, it makes sense that girls think they need to take over the hunter gather role in society

Yeah, she just makes that point to tease me. She's not interested in hunting at all, but she's not against it. As time goes on, she's finally realizing that I'm most happy when I'm hunting, so it benefits everyone if I spend time in the bush. Other than our first year of marriage, she's been pretty good about not complaining that I am often out hunting in the spring and fall. That was a tough year though - a battle I was not willing to lose.

Yes - women are just about everywhere these days - if you want to take a leak in the woods you have to look around first - years ago women wouldn't go to certain places or have certain jobs - is that good or bad - I don't know - we report - you decide - I just hope that we men can keep our last bastion safe from them - a place where we can still be men without interference - it's the men's room - if that should fall we are doomed -
