Spaniel Trials
Hey Guys,
Still working on training my Welsh lots and he is doing well. Just wondered if there are any trials in the area preferably into June as I am busy at work until then. Would like to see what these dogs are supposed to be capable of and at what stage mine should be at 11 months.
Thanks

Here ya go:
http://www.cnsfta.com/
All the trial and hunt test dates are listed there.
I can guarantee there won't be any 11-mo pups in those trials, though! Most of the dogs in JH at hunt tests are 2-3 years old (nobody does the Working Spaniel level, which is the puppy level, it seems).
If you want to bring Grady out to a training day, drop me a line.

It's good to go to these kind of events , even if your dog isn't ready yet, Sudsee. You learn so much just by watching and asking questions and listening to the old guys/gals discuss a dog's performance. I went to an upper NY spaniel trial once. It's a beautiful drive through Upper NY too.

Thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. I should have worded it as what I should be working towards. I know he loves birds and can hunt like crazy and retrieving we are working to make more consistent. This summer's concentration will be on steadying, whistle commands and water work.

That website does have contact emails for the southwestern and central Ont clubs, which aren't yet on the site I posted.

Sorry, Cass, missed your post.
I don't get all the way up there much because it's a long way to go, but I will probably get up there once or twice. Mostly I train at New Dundee.
