Got energetic, finished some antler plaques
Well almost. Now they are just awaiting the lacquer to dry on the plaques. Lots of work went into a couple of them. Top center scores out at 145 3/8" . Middle right was taken by a sharp shooting young lady who managed to plant a 180grns of lead squarely between the antlers. I was about five hours piecing the bits back together to make sure it was exactly as it was before it hit the ground. Bottom left was my guy from this year. The rest belong to family members. A few have been waiting for a couple years.
One of the sets is a matching set of cast antlers. Can you tell which one?
Always had a struggle with dried blood on the antlers. I ran out of my usual acid mix that I hated using anyway. If you were not careful you could actually whiten the antler. I found out CLR works better than anything I have ever tried.
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Nice. The brow tines on the one on the top left are interesting. My guess for cast is bottom centre.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Normal brow tines with four kickers. He was a real old brute my uncle lucked into a couple years back.

Has too much time on their hands
Very nice collection. Nothing like standing around in the man cave and re-telling the tales surrounding each set. My guess for the cast set is bottom right. Noticeably bleached and visible rodent chew.

They look great. Bottom centre is my guess for the sheds. They look a little close together.

Thanks guys.
The cast set is the top center. I walked out onto a field at home and found them both laying under a pine bough. My guess is he knocked them off while making an escape. I had trail cam pics of him and tried to put them back as close as possible to how they were worn. I'm sure the score is not what it was on the hoof butI thought it to be close.
