This gets me furious!
There's an interesting thought! Can we all get together and pitch in $20 to hire a lawyer and sue the pants off the animal right organizations for lost dollars, habitat damage, bee hives etc.?
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

This is what it comes down to, doesn't it? Would be nice if it could be done. I would pay a membership fee to a group of lawyers who aggressively and proactively maintained our interests via the courts.

Isn't that what the ofah is for?

    To a point yes.
But I mean take it one step further. For example. Townships that have discharge bylaw's that do not make sense. When a township owns a boatload of land in the middle of nowhere that joe public has paid for, and they slap a no discharge on it citing safety reasons when it clearly is not the case...who fights this? OFAH would not bother in my opinion.

I'm not quite sure how an injunction proceeds but if both sides have a chance to put forth their argument and in this case it comes before a sane, logical and open minded judge or JP, then the idiots don't stand a chance.
Some of their perceptions of how the animals behave or act around bait sites are so far out to lunch that any reputable outfitter or seasoned bear hunter will shoot down their argument real quick.

I hope you are right Sawbill! It stands to reason that if a logical argument is laid out then we should still have the pilot project for 2 years. I must admit that this court date has me bumping back my baiting schedule though....I am not going to go bait and waste time and money for nothing...

By the time this works its way through a court system and a decision is handed down the hunt will likely be over already.
We still have snow in the bush but the bears are already out so I'd be baiting within a few weeks if I was going to hunt.

I was going to get out this upcoming weekend, but I may bump it back to May 2nd weekend with a mid-end of may hunt for 4-5 days.

I just don't want to invest the hours if it is going to be for nothing.
