Smile Another reason to like labs

I've had dogs all my life, mostly beagles, still do. Since we got "Whisky" our yellow web-footed water dog, the part that has most amazed me is her trainability, desire to please and to stay close.

But something nobody ever told me is that labs are equipped with self-cleaning coats. Last evening was a perfect example. I took Whisky shed hunting and brought her home two-tone: top half yellow and bottom half black with mud. She looked like she'd been dipped in paint; I should have took a picture! Had my outside water been turned on I would have hosed her off, but it was getting late, so in her kennel she went the way she was. To my delight, what emerged this morning was a sparkling yellow dog! Where did it go? LOL!

LOL! Any luck with the sheds? I was out yesterday with the dog as well but we found nothing. Heading out again today I think before the rain comes

I've found 2 sheds so far, but none yesterday, just lots and lots of deer bones. The there's a busy rail line nearby which saves the coyotes the bother of having to kill the deer themselves.

Yeah I found a bunch of bones and fur as well yesterday... Here's a pic from today. This wasn't a true find, just training. I hid it and he found it while out in the woods.
